Steven Arango and George Whitney never met, but they had a couple things in common. They both attended Bates College, and they are both Marines. When Arango found out about Whitney's death while working for the CIA in Afghanistan and realized Bates hadn't done anything to memorialize him on campus, Arango got to work on changing that.
