Computer Talk: The Devastation of Data Breaches (11/23/19) - Part 1

View descriptionShare

Erik and Bob take your computer questions.  Ransomware data breaches at hospitals linked to an uptick in fatal heart attacks.  1.2 billion records exposed in an unsecured data base.  AT&T fined $60 million over data throttling allegations with "unlimited" data plans.  A Windows user wants to know if data on his USB flash drive can be copied to his Chromebook.  A caller asks about using paid antivirus in his computer, and how to properly uninstall McAfee antivirus from his computer.  We also answer questions about Webroot antivirus and configuring OpenDNS.  A caller has trouble opening Microsoft Office files due to an "infection" with BitLocker file encryption.  A caller running an Internet speed test wonders if he is getting all the speed he is paying for.
