New deadline of 30 June for decision on Byron ‘nude’ beach

View descriptionShare

Byron's only official 'nude' beach has made national headlines again since the surprise announcement from NSW Parks and Wildlife that the strip of shoreline at Tyagarah falls within its jurisdiction and will no longer be clothing optional.

The Byron Shire Council invested considerable time and energy debating the beach's status in 2018 but now Councillor Duncan Dey says signs erected at the time outlining the boundaries of the 'nude' beach may have to be pulled down.

Find out how the councill has responded to the NSW Parks and Wildlife announcement, with thanks to Greens Councillor Duncan Dey.
