A wild koala has become the first to receive a new chlamydia vaccine implant, marking a major step forward in koala conservation.

The implant delivers the booster dose automatically, removing the need to capture koalas twice and making large-scale vaccination programs more practical.

We hear from Dr Michael Pyne, Senior Veterinarian at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital, about why the breakthrough offers new hope for protecting koalas from chlamydia.
