Rotten butter and anti-whaling activists feature in an international court case starring Captain Paul Watson, we find out the latest on his detention in Greenland as Japan continue to fight for his extradition.

Back home on the high seas of Lennox Head, volunteers rescued two crew from a sinking trawler in pre-dawn darkness, Vessel Master Geoff Hutchinson fills us in on the dramatic details.

The NSW government looks set to pass what critics call ‘anti-protest’ laws governing railway lines in the lead-up to this month’s planned so-called ‘protestival’ against Australian coal exports in Newcastle, we hear calls for protests against the laws from the NSW Council for Civil Liberties.

The protest theme continues with NSW nurses and midwives having been out on strike as they accuse the government of refusing to negotiate seriously on calls for pay in line with other states and territories.

A new report shows cost of living impacts of climate change on Australian families, including a single mother from Ballina, we find out more from the leader of a relatively new group called Parents for Climate, which has partnered with the Climate Council on the study.
