Member for Ballina Tamara Smith has been to visit residents of the temporary emergency housing pod village in Wollongbar and is calling for the council to grant a lease extension with concerns the housing crisis means disaster survivors will once again face the risk of homelessness.

Meanwhile, occupants of buyback homes in Lismore are still fighting for the right to stay put as authorities send mixed messages.

Two tiny charities carrying out enormously significant work feeding the needy and helping the environment have won government grants, we find out about the funded projects in Tweed and Kyogle.
