Community Newsroom - 1 May 2026

It’s time to play… sport, that is, especially for women and girls in NSW, where a new program is already kicking goals. Meanwhile, a couple of women from Bay FM who prefer to play music and other audio pleasures in support of artists share news of a national award nomination and how aspiring songwriters on the Northern Rivers can have a chance at having their work recorded to industry standard.

Further inland, Nimbin’s annual Mardi Grass protestival is happening this weekend with the usual forecast rain, cannabis experts from near and far, Sunday parade and police presence.

  3. Longtime Bay FM volunteer nominated for national award featuring Bay FM Arts Canvass Producer/Presenter and creator of The Narratives Library Karena Wynn-Moylan  and author Trent Dalton (Mia Armitage)
