Competition for marginal seats is heating up ahead of next year’s Federal Election and that includes right here in the seat of Richmond, where The Greens candidate Mandy Nolan has been campaigning non-stop ever since she first started her run in the leadup to the 2022 election.
The Greens have announced a million dollars in funding for homelessness services support in the Richmond electorate, specifically for the Fletcher Street cottage, if they get enough numbers in the 2025 Federal Election and we hear more from Mandy Nolan who joins us in the studio.
But long before the Federal Election and taking up most of our attention for the next few weeks are the NSW local government elections, in particular the Byron Shire Council election, and today we hear from outgoing Independent Councillor Sama Balson, who has served as one of the few young women in local government across the state. What is it that has prompted her departure after just one term? Listen in to find out.
