Community DC Host Dennis Glasgow visits with Dr. Heather Jenkins, President & CEO for the Literacy Lab in Washington DC. A non-profit organization that provides children in under-resourced communities with evidence-based reading instruction. Their goal is to close the literacy gap for children ages 3 to grade 3, ensuring students are reading at grade level before they make the critical shift from "learning to read" to "reading to learn".
