**Community Connection: Early Voting, Budget Discussions, and Domestic Violence Awareness**

This week on Community Connection, Tina Cosby dives into the issues that matter to you, from the first day of early voting in Indiana to the latest developments in the city's budget discussions. Joining Tina in the studio are President of the City-County Council Maggie Lewis and Chairman of the Parks and Recreation Committee Dan Boots, who share their insights on the proposed 2027 budget and the importance of community input. They discuss the use of flock surveillance cameras, the need for guardrails to regulate their use, and the city's plans to improve infrastructure and address quality of life issues.

Tina also talks to Eric Halvorson, Kroger Spokesperson, Head of Communications and Public Affairs and Jenny Evans from the Julian Center, a local organization that provides support to victims of domestic violence. Jenny shares the center's mission to help survivors become successful and highlights the importance of community involvement in addressing this critical issue. The Julian Center is partnering with Kroger to raise awareness and funds during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Tina explains how listeners can get involved.

In other news, Toni shares her experience voting early in Marion County, where she was pleasantly surprised to find that parking was free, courtesy of Center Township. The conversation also touches on a fascinating piece of Indiana history, the Reno brothers, who robbed a train in Jackson County in 1866 and were later lynched by a mob.
