The Australian share market fell slightly on Monday as investors adopted a cautious stance ahead of the Reserve Bank decision and Melbourne Cup Day. Key corporate updates from Westpac and other major firms dominated trading activity ahead of a pivotal week of economic decisions.

Steve Daghlian and Laura Besarati are Market Analysts at CommSec. Each episode, they break down the day's market movements and explain what the numbers really mean.
