It’s been a rollercoaster week for global markets, with Aussie investors caught in the crossfire of escalating trade tensions between the US and China. The back-and-forth, led by unpredictable moves from President Trump, has triggered some of the most extreme market volatility since the GFC and COVID era. Despite the chaos, the Aussie sharemarket is surprisingly set to finish the week only half a percent lower, thanks to a couple of strong sessions mid-week.
