Ohio’s unemployment rate edged higher in September as employers cut jobs and the number of unemployed workers increased, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services said Friday. The rate rose to 4.2% in September from 4.1% in August. Meanwhile, total employment fell by 1,500 jobs and the number of unemployed workers rose by 5,000 to 248,000. By comparison, the U.S. unemployment rate was 3.5% in September.
