Sixty-eight rules violations by a Columbus lawyer were a few too many for the Ohio Supreme Court. The justices voted 4-3 on Wednesday to indefinitely suspend Lawrence Winkfield from the practice of law for his fourth set of professional misconduct charges since 1996. The court found that Winkfield neglected the cases of two clients by never filing their lawsuits, failed to clearly set the amounts of his legal fees and did not properly manage his client trust account. The judges who dissented said they would have disbarred Winkfield.
