On Monday, leaders of the movements for racial justice met with Columbus police officials to discuss their demands for change within the Police Division’s ranks. Leaders who spoke afterward said the meeting touched on “demilitarizing” the police, improving the civilian review board and increasing officers’ sensitivity training. Leaders involved on both sides said the meeting was productive, but some demonstrators who gathered around them afterward were not satisfied with the update.
