We talk about Dr. Brian Yearwood leaving the district, followed by the school board hiring Dr. Chris Belcher as the Interim Superintendent of Schools through June 2025. At the same time, a search, with the help of the Missouri Schools Boards Association, is underway with a target of mid-February 2025 to name the new Columbia Superintendent of Schools. We dig into the search process and timetable. Our conversation also incudes information on the process of filing for school board candidates who wish to run in the April 2025 Municipal election, new attendance boundaries and transportation.
