This week Maat McCormick, President of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce joins us to talk all things Chamber.  We review the last Quarterly Membership Breakfast that was focused on philanthropy.  At the meeting, Heart of Missouri CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) was named the "Not-for-Profit of the Year".  We also talk about the latest updates on the progress on the I-70 widening project and the finishing touches on the Rocheport I-70 bridge coming very soon.  We also talk about the upcoming legislative session and those possibilities, along with workforce development.

KFRU Business Spotlight - January 4th & 5th, 2025. This week I share a couple of interviews I did in 2024 when filling in for colleagues on NewsTalk 98.9 FM/1400 AM KFRU.  Frist, Suto Forte and Brian Johnstone joined me on the Columbia Morning with David Gaines show on Friday, December 27th, 2024 to talk about the vote during the city council meeting coming up on January 6th, 2025.  They believe there is a lack of information about the "mountain biking" trail that is a proposed addition to the Gans Creek Nature Area.  Second, Columbia Mayor Barbara Buffaloe joined me on Thursday, December 26th on the KFRU Morning Meeting to review 2024 and to look forward to 2025 in terms of some major issues facing the City of Columbia.

KFRU Business Spotlight -- December 28th-29th, 2024.  Kip Kendrick, Boone County Presiding Commissioner, joins us to talk about the upcoming fiscal year (it matches the calendar year) as the budget was recently finalized and approved by the commission.  We look ahead at priorities within that budget for 2025.  We also take a look back at 2024 and talk about the property tax program for seniors, reviewing how the program worked.
