KFRU Business Spotlight - January 4th & 5th, 2025. This week I share a couple of interviews I did in 2024 when filling in for colleagues on NewsTalk 98.9 FM/1400 AM KFRU.  Frist, Suto Forte and Brian Johnstone joined me on the Columbia Morning with David Gaines show on Friday, December 27th, 2024 to talk about the vote during the city council meeting coming up on January 6th, 2025.  They believe there is a lack of information about the "mountain biking" trail that is a proposed addition to the Gans Creek Nature Area.  Second, Columbia Mayor Barbara Buffaloe joined me on Thursday, December 26th on the KFRU Morning Meeting to review 2024 and to look forward to 2025 in terms of some major issues facing the City of Columbia.

KFRU Business Spotlight -- December 28th-29th, 2024.  Kip Kendrick, Boone County Presiding Commissioner, joins us to talk about the upcoming fiscal year (it matches the calendar year) as the budget was recently finalized and approved by the commission.  We look ahead at priorities within that budget for 2025.  We also take a look back at 2024 and talk about the property tax program for seniors, reviewing how the program worked.

Sunday Business Spotlight -- December 15th, 2024.  This week Suzette Waters, CPS Board of Education President, joins us.  We talk about Dr. Brian Yearwood leaving the district, followed by the school board hiring Dr. Chris Belcher as the Interim Superintendent of Schools through June 2025.  At the same time, a search, with the help of the Missouri Schools Boards Association, is underway with a target of mid-February 2025 to name the new Columbia Superintendent of Schools.  We dig into the search process and timetable.  Our conversation also incudes information on the process of filing for school board candidates who wish to run in the April 2025 Municipal election, new attendance boundaries and transportation.
