Mayor McKennon McDonald and City Manager Robb Corbett review last night's (11/18) Pendleton Develoment Commission and City Council meetings. Starting with the PDC, McDonald highlights a discussion on downtown public safety, then Corbett gives an update on the Baker property where townhomes along the river are being proposed. As for the city council meeting, updates on the Boutique Air piliot training classroom lease in the airport terminal and the Skyview Bistro and Lounge lease, also in the airport terminal. Corbett then talk about the council's consideration of annexing land contigous to the city limits off NE Highway 11 and Riverside Avenue. McDonald talks about the city's strategic plan and discusses the vacant building workshop. Corbett ends the conversation talking about flood management and McKay Creek.

Umatilla County Historical Society (UCHS) Heritage Station Museum Executive Director Shannon Gruenhagen gives an overview of the organization and discusses as 2025 nears the end, what she's doing to prepare for 2026. She also reminds the community about Heritage Lights, Dec. 12, 13, 19 and 20, plus the Lighted Parade and Tree Lighting Dec. 13 at 4:30 p.m. She reminds the community that the museum closes Dec. 31 and will reopen on March 3. Pat Gregg and Chris Cockburn, representing Neighbors For A Better Pendleton, explain the group's mission and discuss the proposal the submitted to the Pendleton City Council in August and what happened at that meeting. Gregg goes into exactly what was in the proposol the group submitted and how the city responded. Gregg also talks about why the group believes concentrating services downtown is part of the problem. Cockburn talks about how the group met with members of the homeless community and what they learned from those conversations. Cockburn also addresses critics who might say the group's proposals are punitive.

Corbett runs through a few bids that went before city council. Then McBride talks about the fire station no. 2 remodel and request to expand project to address inadequate living quarters. They also talk about the first reading of an ordinance dealing with vacant store fronts, the capital improvement plan for the airport, convention center and Vert. McBride then talks about city communications and shares why she was interested in serving as a councilmember.
