May 25 | Oregon Sen. Bill Hansell (R-Athena)

View descriptionShare

Oregon Sen. Bill Hansell (R-Athena) begins the conversation explaining how Republicans have said that they'll be back in session to pass a budget and bill that are bipartisan in nature on June 25th and why waiting until then doesn't delay the budget that the legislature is expected to approve. He also talks about his request that the Senate follow its own rules that requires descriptions of bills be understandable, the denial of quorum, the issue regarding unexcused absences and two key pieces of legislation that Republicans are opposed to enough to risk their political careers -- one is the perceived threat to the Second Amendment with even more gun control measures and the other is a bill that would grant unprecedented rights to those under the age of 18 for both reproductive and gender-affirming rights.
