March 27 | Morrow County District Attorney Office

View descriptionShare

Morrow County District Attorney Justin Nelson shares his concerns on Senate Bill 1027 which he says works to take out the word "prisoner" from the statute, and instead replace it with "person" or "adult in custody". He also shares his thoughts on Senate Bill 320 which would allow anyone serving a mandatory minimum sentence for crimes other than murder who has not been convicted for another Measure 11 crime to become eligible for a sentence reduction. Nelson also talks about how important it is that regional law enforcement help each other enforce the laws, plus he talks about the plan to ask for funding to build a new courthouse. Finally, he shares his reaction to the bill that would declare district attorneys and deputy district attorneys to be law enforcement.
