Pendleton City Manager Robb Corbett and Pendleton City Councilmember Addison Schulberg recap the Feb. 18 Pendleton Development Commission and Pendleton City Council meetings. Starting with the PDC, then three-month deadlines were approved for projects that passed their original deadlines and their extended deadlines. A plan for a test installation of cameras and possible lighting upgrades to Brownfield Park was also passed. As for the city council meeting, Corbett talks about a proclamation for the Two Cultures One Community Pow-Wow, then public hearings on vacation of the western half of a portion of SW 9th Street for town home development, amending the vacant property ordinance, and passing referral to the electors of the city of Pendleton the question of imposing a levy for fire and ambulance services.

He talks about Oregon's gun control law that's still in the courts on constitutionality questions and possibility of longer waiting periods for permits. He also shares his thoughts on Washington's anti-sheriff bill and if this shouldn't be something left to the voters. Rowan then discusses Friday's accident involving a vehicle that went into Mill Creek near Walla Walla on the Oregon side of the state line and how different law enforcement agencies deal with jurisdictional issues like that.
