Intermountain Education Service District Superintendent Mark Mulvihill shares his take on the ambitious effort underway in Salem to overhaul how the state determines funding levels for schools. With the Oregon Legislature getting underway next month, he shares what the number one policy change he's currently advocating for at the state level in Salem. Mulvihill also talks about the massive push for career-ready graduates and how IMESD is helping local district build CTE programs that actually align with the workforce needs in our region, like agriculture and data centers. Beyond just providing device, he shares how IMESD is working to ensure reliable infrastructure for distance learning and digital literacy. He also talks about how IMESD is taking an innovative approach to grow their own teachers within the region. Mulvihill, then switches hats and talks about the McKay Creek community meeting.
