East Umatilla Fire and Rescue Chief Davy Baty gives an update on the Stronger Together initiative being worked on by fire districts within Umatilla County. He then talks about the state of fire service in the area EUFR covers. As volunteering is declining nationwide, Baty talks about the initiatives EUFR is taking to recruit and retain the dedicated volunteers tha are the backbone to the district. He also talks about how EUFR integrates new technology and what is the greatest threat to the district's livability from a public safety perspective. Baty wraps up the conversation talking about funding and how he prioritizes high-cost equipment needs while maintaining a balanced budget. He also explains how he identifies which grants to pursue.

Next. she commends the city of Pilot Rock New Year's Eve fireworks show. She also gives an update on petitions to recall Sheriff Terry Rowan. Timmons also talks about the problem of used RVs/motorhomes being used by homeless people in the county and left. Timmons wraps up the conversation talking about legislative concerns.

Pendleton City Manager Robb Corbett and Pendleton City Councilmember Sean Butler recap the Jan. 6 Pendleton Development Commission and Pendleton City Council meetings. Starting with the PDC, Butler talks about the approval of the security grant. Corbett then talks about the Pendleton City Council electing Carole Innes as Council President and details the parks and recreation department's capital improvement program presented last night to the city council. Butler then shares a bit about himself and why he chose to be a councilmember. The conversation wraps up talking about the thought of an indoor pool in Pendleton.
