View descriptionShare

Pendleton Mayor John Turner and City Manager Robb Corbett review last night's city council meeting. Turner begins the discussion talking about a transit assistance grant from ODOT and a resolution concerning the booking policy at the Pendleton Convention Center, followed by a resolution in support of the League of Oregon Cities recommendation on changes to Measure 110. Corbett then details the two public hearings, the first on the fee schedule and the second on zoning a portion of Goad Road to light industrial. Under new business, Turner explains the first reading of two ordinances - zoning a portion of Goad Road property to low density residential and vacating a portion of SE 19th St. Corbett then talks about the Westgate Apartments tax stabilization agreement amendment and how work is beginning on the budget. Corbett ends the program talking about Pendleton Parks and Recreation canceling the Junior Cheer program for the remainder of the season. This is due to a discussion on social media regarding music for cheer programs. The city will be developing a policy for selecting music in the future. All families that registered will receive a full refund or a credit.
