Oregon Congressman Cliff Bentz (R-Ontario) discusses his proposed amendments to the Water Resource Development Act which aims to protect the lower Snake River dams. There has been a lot of talk about reintroducing bears to the Cascades and Bentz shares his thoughts on that. He also talks about wolves and his efforts to address them not only in Eastern Oregon, but across the nation. Bentz then discusses the status of awarding Vietnam War veterans from Operation Dustoff the Congressional Medal of Honor. Bentz then shares what appears to be one of the greater issues or concerns he's hearing from his constituents at this time.

Umatilla County Public Health Overdose Prevention Coordinator & Community Health Systems Developer Isabel Devera, Mariah Wright from COPES, and Umatilla County Commissioner Cindy Timmons discuss the coalition group for substance use disorder and mental health organizations, Unity Within the Community. They also promote the upcoming Break the Stigma event, Sat., July 27, 4 - 6 p.m. at Roy Raley Park in Pendleton.

Public Works Director Bob Patterson and Assistant Public Works Director Jeff Brown join KUMA Coffee Hour host Dan Thesman on today's program. Patterson announces his plan to leave employment next month and begin a new chapter in Western Australia. A send off for Bob and his wife, Lisa, will be held at Great Pacific, Sun., June 23rd from 2 to 4 p.m. Brown will be promoted into the Public Works Director Position upon Patterson's departure. Patterson then talks about some of the agenda items from last night's city council workshop, including the pavement condition index report. Brown talks about the tanks being removed on airport hill, goat watch, summer street projects, and the boil advisory for Riverside area residents.
