This week on Clyde Confidential, Meghan sits down with Ivy Getty and her right hand, Renee Canterna, who just hit their three-year work anniversary. They look back on a hiring process that barely counted as an interview (it was a restaurant meet-up where Ivy’s kindness to the waitstaff sealed the deal), the early-days mix-ups, including the fitting-versus-show-location mishap, and how an art gallery background turned out to be the perfect training ground for wrangling Ivy’s world. Along the way, they get into astrology, Ivy’s rescue Chihuahuas, the T-Pain concerts they’ve attended together, and the Fashion Week car ride where one of them fully sobbed after meeting a childhood idol while the others tried not to die laughing.

Beneath the chaos, there’s real heart. They talk about the giving-back projects they dream up together, from filling a school’s winter wish list to packing backpacks and delivering meals to homebound seniors. They also share what keeps a boss-assistant relationship working when you’re close in age and the lines blur: open communication, mutual respect, a lot of patience, and finding the right fit.

Hollywood doesn't run on red carpets; it runs on assistants. Podcast hosted by Meghan Grimm

Hollywood doesn't run on red carpets; it runs on assistants. Behind every headline is the person who booked the car, confirmed the call time, and packed the snacks. In Hollywood, assistants aren't background; they're the operating system. From mailroom gigs, set runners and first feature films to all the chaos behind closed doors, Clyde Confidential lifts the curtain on the industry's most defining (and sometimes mortifying) early career moments. Hosted by Meghan Grimm, founder of the elite entertainment staffing agency Clyde, this podcast brings together the movers and shakers of Hollywood: clients, creators, and ex-assistants turned power players to dish on the real stories from their career journeys and biggest lessons that came out of them.
