T.V. graphics wizard, multi-instrumentalist composer and super-app king Russell, collaborated with the late, great Taoist Master Barefoot Doctor in 2010 on a fantasically inventive, off the wall, superbly musical album 'What your Focus on Grows'.

Here we have him spilling musical stories on what it was like working and playing creatively with him. Plus personal reflections on how transcendental meditation and the Alexander Technique has helped him through personal challenges.

Along with the tales of philosophy and surrealism are tunes inspired by the Ganesh mantra, with the positive message music 'Get Spanky' and in particular 'Connected' showcases Barefoot Stephen's solidly rhythmic bass playing and creative vocal riffing, deeply steeped in Taoist wisdom.

Their track 'Vagabond', also riftastic with bass c/o Brother Barefoot, is now the Chi Time theme, Russell explains what happened after I'd asked if he could re-mix it for the show...

Barefoot Doctor shuffled off his mortal dimension suddenly in late January at his home in Southern Spain.

We were all very shocked, still coming to terms with it, thankful we could attend a fitting memorial in early Feb replete with his 3 sons, many friends and a host of sonic tracks, projection memories and a great spread. Sad but so celebratory of his uniqueness.

He has left us with so much to play with and remember, with wise trainings, brilliant books and tales to share, show and tell, keeping his spirit alive, while we are.
