On today’s show Lisa divulges one of her biggest fears and Clairsy muses on the wisdom he imparted to North Metro Tafes students yesterday.

On The Shaw Report , Henry Winkler was inducted into the Hall of Fame, which reminded Lisa of a random Happy Days fact and Tom Cruise earns a Guinness World Record for a very specific stunt.

Clairsy & Lisa asks listeners about the strangest things they’ve seen while eating out.

Hayden Young stopped by ahead of this weekend’s game against the Kangaroos. Fresh from a bye and with three wins on the trot, Hayden said the team were amped and he gave the guy’s an update on his rehab progress. Plus, Clairsy quizzed Hayden on the best spot for a cinnamon scroll.

With Clairsy & Lisa’s Perth Pub Crawl fast approaching Tom Jennis from Clutch Cargo phoned in to chat memories, cruise ships and a specific accessory that Tom would take everywhere with him.

This is Clarsy and Lisa's podcast.

Our per Pump Crawl continued with Tom Jennis from Clutch Cargo. He talked about playing in Japan and a stuff toy that traveled with the band.

Was it a monkey or a donkey?

We talked about the fear of dropping keys in grapes No Free Metal.

Doctor Hayden Young chat's about this weekend's game against the Ruse and his love of cinnamon scrolls.

Clary recounts his guest lecture at Tafe yesterday.

We took calls on the things you've seen whilst.

Eating out and Tom Cruise has broken a Guinness record involving flaming parachutes.

Who knew there was one?

Got a Canning Highway at four thirty am. Up for you?

Okay this morning? This morning he saw a dude all dressed all in black apart from his red shoes, which would make me a good witness because I didn't notice he had red shoes on, okay, And he was on his hands and knees and I'm sure he was trying to dig his way into a business.

It looked like he was he was.

Digging like a tunnel. I didn't see what the business was left over?

Was he trying to lounder?

I was trying to tunnel under through the concrete something.

Yeah, it was maybe just dropped his keys.

He might have may have dropped his keys. My greatest fear, No, you don't want to do that. How hard do you clutch under your keys into your grape?

Like?

Do you do that white knuckle too?

And I reckon that you're going to mean that one day we'll be holding them too tight and they'll get released and.

A knuckle is going to come through my hand before I drop my keys down of grade? Have you ever noticed that gap as you get off the lift here, there's that little bit of a My second greatest fear that they'll.

Go down there. Yeah, you don't want which would be even worse.

Well, that would be weird getting out of the shaft.

Why calling a guy? Yeah, yeah, an elevator guy.

Mind you, if you're on the street and you've got your car parked there and your keys are down to drain, are you there trying to lift?

I'm there.

I'm there with a fishing line and a magnet attached to the end of it, trying to guy for them up.

And I'm there with a camera film there that would go via mcgabor.

I'd love to say that with a bit of Raiders at the Lost Art you gotta get a VID.

Of the music. I know what the mcgarveth the miss understand.

Are you close?

Yeah?

I think it's pretty close.

The Sure report on ninety six AIRFM.

The Funds is being inducted into the Television Hall of Fame. Henry Winkler will be inducted at a ceremony in August, alongside Conan O'Brien and I got status actress Viola Davis. Actually, this reminds me of something I was going to tell you. I was reading something about Mickey Dolan's from the Monkeys the other day and he said he was almost Fonsie. It came down to him and Henry Winkler, and Henry Winkler had lost all hope when he saw Dolans the audition because he was so famous post the Monkeys, so Henry thought.

He'd get it. But Henry did get it, and the rest is history.

Tom Cruiser's burning parachute stunt in Mission impossible. The final reckoning has earned him a Guinner World record. Really Tom is now Yeah, Tom is now the official record holder for the most burning parachute jumps by an individual. That's the title, after jumping from a helicopter sixteen times to get the scene just right.

What I'm going to do is, I'm going to be deploying. If this is twisted while it's burning, I'm going to be spinning and burn.

I have to kick out of the twist and then ignited to get ten sentence.

We're going to be real smart and I'm not saying be risky and I'm not.

You don't take risks, you know, obviously.

Wow, obviously you know. I'm not a huge fan.

But I'll tell you how the record credit where break again?

Yeah, you're right, Yeah, he does, he goes and doesn't he does?

Does he does record for the biggest handshake?

Yeah? No, no, no, no, Marc Latham's kind.

You're right.

I'd like to say the word the World Championship between me and Tom.

Oh my God, a new wonder Woman is in the works.

I decided to play.

Oh my God into DC Studios co chief James Gunn.

It's being written as we speak.

The movie will be in addition to an HBO series being made about Wonder Woman, which Gun says is slow moving, but it's moving. There's no word on casting other than it probably wouldn't won't be galgadot galgadot galgave and check the pronunciation galdo galgadote. This time round, okay, this week can just gone. Would have been Prince's sixty seventh birthday June seventh, and his estate is marking it by teasing because they do the purple you know party. Still they're marking it by teasing that two of his albums are set to be reissued. A box set edition of nineteen eighty five's Around the World in a Day is coming very soon, and next year there'll be something special to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of his album Parade.

Yesterday, a least I mentioned that I was going down to North Metro Tafan leedable to talk to the radio students down there, which have done a few times.

I've believed on the wisdom. Wisdom am I wise?

No?

Maybe not anyway, So I got to talk to the radio people and it's interesting. The first thing I do with a group of about twenty and they're all They all look about twenty apart from one bloke who wants to view one bloke who looks about my age who wants to be an an ounce of read the news on the AB saying I went good on you. I think that's very cool. And there's always an older student in a group. I think it's very cool, very cool.

Indeed, yeah, absolutely.

And how do you know if you don't have a crack. But the first thing I do is to get everyone in the room to say their name and what they'd love to do. And most people want to be a lot of people want to be digital type people in the media these days.

And I went on, I'm John and I want to be a podcast.

Podcaster or they yeah, they want to do some digital work with you know, putting stuff together as well, and there's yeah, it's a totally different world. Few people want to be radio announcers in that. But I as I spoke, I ended up speaking for about forty minutes yesterday, and there was one point where I realized, because you know me, I don't really care about much about age. I'm fifty nine, right, I don't think that much about it. I never really thought about it. Unilurie said to me last she goes, you're sixty next year. Know I think, oh yeah, yeah, and I'm talking. But yeah, there was a moment whatever. There was a moment yesterday where I had to explain who Bob girlof was to the.

Group nod you know, come on now.

I had to explain to the groa who.

Wasn't around when Beethoven was alive, but I know who he is.

Yeah, Ludwig so and I went, oh, how am I going to do this?

And I went, do you remember there was a thing maybe the folks spoke about a thing called light Baby forty years ago at ninety five, because they were asked me about really good and really bad interviews. Anyway, so we move on. So I had to explain. I had to explain who Bob Girl was. It was really weird moment in that generation gap. And eventually a couple of people sort of looked. I said, yeah, he was in a band called the Boomtown Rats. But he raised the light mondays, no he does not. Mondays he can get a bit cranky sometimes, but he also he also raised a shitload of money. I'm talking about live AI and everything happened there. You can't take that away from sir Bob. But that was that was a funny moment. But it was really interesting to talk to these people and find out with these I say, they're not all kids, but a lot of them are very young, and some of them were really honest and said, I don't know what I want to do yet, but I'd really like to work in the media.

In the medium.

And it was really weird.

As I spoke forty minutes and just as I was about to wrap up because I had the cold last week and I wasn't sipping water or whatever, I lost my voice. At the end of the chat.

It was actually quite appropriate that I think we're done exhibiting. Yeah, it's like kids, see you next year.

Yeah.

Yeah, that was that.

But the explaining of who Bob Girdof was was was a real pivotal moment.

Thanks for doing.

More Crazy, Liza, more podcasts soon.

At least you remember just a few days ago, I was talking about when you go out for dinner or lunch with friends or family and you have shared plates.

Oh yeah, the last bit.

Talking about the last bit of pizza or the last bit of you know what, It might be might be a bit of.

Pastor us aaron chiney ball.

Please, and then they give you three. Isn't it bizarre when they do that?

So four encouraging this kind of give you three with three, with the four of you, you're going to start.

A war, Yeah, exactly, a method to their madness.

Dividing them all into quarters or something weird. So that's to do with that food etiquette thing. I thought today we'd open up the phones on things you've seen when you've been eating out. And I wanted to do that because last year we went to a restaurant, a seafood restaurant and free called the Cray and there were a few Cray restaurants around the place. And while we were sitting there, there was a table next to us and near how you sometimes get food invY when you see people's food coming out.

Yeah, and this todd ordered that. Yeah.

There was a tiny couple right sitting on the table next to us in a booth. They were really small humans, right, they had So there's mom and dad obviously, and there was a toddler and a little baby.

So the four of them.

And that out came the biggest seafood platter i'd seen ever. This was like the Twin Towers, only there was one of them. There was every kind of fish and our station and then chips and then salad, all just dripping off. It was like a three layer so you know, really the word platter didn't really it wasn't appropriate.

It was like a tower.

It was a seafood tower.

And then I was really keen to see and I reckon they got through most of it.

It was it was like they should have been with Tom Cruise in the Guinness Book of Records.

It was an incredible eating.

Feet but they knew what there there on the once a week.

Maybe once a month. It was so much food, and I went, whoa. I was really impressed. They ate more than I would have eaten them, for sure. But I thought, tell us about what you've seen when you've been out and munching away on things. Be at restaurant, might be lunch, might.

Be dinner, a bit of dining etjucutte, it could.

Be editor maybe it could. You may have seen something really weird in.

The rest of an incident.

The other day, we were out for coffee and we had a really nice sort of bench table in the sun and it was. It was just we got there just before lunchtime because we've been for a walk, and then it was getting into lunch, you know, encroaching into lunch hours. Yes, woman came over and she said, are you you you just having a coffee?

Are you going to go soon?

She wanted your table, We wanted that table.

She said, we've got a reservation, but we really want to sit in the sun.

Are you going to go soon?

And we were like, yeah, well we will be going shortly.

So then she proceeded to stand behind me.

No waiting.

She was about what less than a meter away standing behind me. Do you think that you know?

It was relaxing my stress.

I was. I was tempted to order another coffee.

That's yeah, almost spot someone else and hey, come home. You want a table?

Oh my god. Didn't want a little extreme. She didn't want you to stand up. You could have sat at.

The table that you had reserved until such point.

You didn't have to stand within hearing my conversation distance away.

She's like the the restaurant version of the people who stand in a car park.

And go for my husband.

Yes, yes, over.

The text line is available this morning.

Did we mention the price two tickers to see the Red Hot Summer Tour.

Presents Crowded House and More Like.

The Church and Angus and Julia Stone happening at Sanderford Wines on the sixth of December.

It's a Saturday.

Love to hear your stories today. The things you've seen whilst out eating. Maybe you've stood behind Lisa and waiting for.

The Are you going to finish that?

Exactly? What's your heart to you? Things you've seen when you've been out from a meal?

Yes, child in Rockingham turned my stomach a little bit. Put your spoon down of having your weeps, he said. I saw a kid at the old Sizzler trying all the food at the buffet.

One he didn't like. His spat back into the baby.

Ray, I'm mix it in. It's rank, I know.

And there's one about someone changing a baby's nappy on the table on.

The dinner table. Oh no, that's not good.

Let's go to Como John.

Hello John, well John, are you there?

You good looking for Friday night?

No?

Very good? Did o cares?

Patty?

Yeah?

What do you say now?

My pet is well, I've seen this happen numerous times, and my sons are ship, by the way.

And this is his pet hate as well.

People who go to restaurants and think it's McDonald's and they can change things around.

Yeah, so they think they.

Can replace the side of busy with something else much.

Yeah it's not McDonald's.

Yeah, take out the pickles and the pickles.

Yes, you probably can, but.

Yeah, probably drive the kitchen.

You would buy.

Drives.

What's even crazy.

I don't like to risk driving the kitchen crazy.

Yeah, just just to be safe.

Yeah, yeah, I like to keep.

Them on side.

You don't want them to do what their little kid did it exactly, John. Many people come to our party on Friday night.

Everyone's excited.

Yeah, that's cool.

Good morning.

What have you witnessed out having a meal?

Well it was only just recently.

Actually, I was out at the casino and they were wanting to call it the restaurant restaurant rush and want to rush through the the patrons for the restaurant. I actually specifically asked the waitress could we have entree and then wait and then have mained, But she insisted that we order the whole lott and brought out the mains while we're still aading half of the entree.

They just wanted to pump through the people.

They just were in a hurry.

To get thumbs on seats and yeah through the meal.

You only ate so far.

You didn't have time to breathe when you finish entre.

I don't know what you're going to fancy after you've you know, finished your your maine, or if you're going to want it at all. It's right.

Yeah, was it one of the ones where you it was like dinner and show or something now because they're trying to get yes.

It was, yeah, yeah, and actually.

Yeah, thank you.

That's all right.

Guys, you too good to talk.

To you Tan, you're and Butler. What have you seen?

Well, my partner and I went to a Malaysian restaurant, a very popular restaurant, and it was crowded, so we were have stented and there was this couple that were jammed between the front door and the counter and they didn't seem to.

Care and they were.

As we're watching, this guy pulls out a carton a beer of EMU expert, put some on the table, starts drinking his beer, and then his wife brings out a decanter. She's got a crystal the Canta sitting on the table.

What happened?

They were set up, very organized. It's hilarious.

Well did you know.

Whether to laugh or you think? It must be a very special night.

Crystal, Yeah, the best.

Crystal never looked at cancas in the same way.

Again, I didn't.

Start saying anything or doing anything or just a business.

No, they were just start. They were fine, they were happy where they were and they just let them.

Be having a pre dinner drink.

Yeah.

Thanks.

I suppose I didn't get at the small glasses and do some stickies later in the night just to wrap them.

Er.

That is amazing the things you see. It's got a dartch Wendy, Hi, Wendy.

Yeah, what have you seen?

Well, we actually a few years ago for the anniversary, went to a place called Nick Kelly's in Hong Kong. At least stumbled in in the middle of the afternoon, hot or late afternoon, hot, sweaty, thirsty as he's out of place, and grabbed a couple of burgers. And while we were there the place transformed into a salty jazz club. And yeah, apparently, and we sat, we do. Seats were hard to get, so basically they set you anywhere you can sit. Even if you've got six people in your party, they'll sit at six different spots and know that he was on their mobile phone. Nobody was on their devices except for one guy. Because people come from all over the world to visit their Kellys to hear the jazz at the box of his band play and the rule. The rule is you sit where you can't and eventually you make it your way back to your group. But in the meantime you might have spoken to people from well the night we were there, we spoke to Texans, Bruton's.

Around the world, Kelly's interesting, and everyone's living in the moment, love it.

We were all living in the moment, and the toilets themselves were in experience because there was sort of only a semi door sort of blocking off the men's so you got half nightfall when you went to the lady.

Okay, there you go if you're looking.

But nobody bothered.

Everybody kept on, kept on enjoying the jazz. We didn't get into three till or three in the morning, because it just.

Goes all night goes off you.

I would imagine the urinals would be like Ned Kelly, Kelly masks, wouldn't they.

I would never have thought Ned Kelly would be called sultry jazz robinswater Robert, what do you got for it?

I'm a guilty party.

Guilty what have you done?

Going?

Okay?

Ice cream party called Swinton backing Scarborough. Now they had an ice cream called the Earthquake. Now this is two liters of ice cream, adding twenty scoops, all the oh yeah, all the toppings on the menu, you know, the cream, the nuts, the syrups and everything. Yeah, you feed easily feed for maybe five people. Well, there were four of us there and we thought, oh, look we're going to get this. We got one each.

Seriously the way.

They looked at us, and he said, really we go, We won't want to the other side.

Yeah.

Yeah, Well he went back to place. The order other customers were saying was ice cream, and he sort of said, somebody's ordered four of these things and he was sort of sighing at us. And it also had glass windows, because when the order came out and dumped him in front of us, people walking by just sort of stopped.

And we've got a bit of a crowd while they're watching spectator sport.

It certainly was we actually finished them. We've got a standing ovation from the Yeah, you know, even the guys inside were pretty impressed. Cleaned up the dishes and everything, but we didn't end up ever going back. We enjoyed ourselves, but we never went back. I'm one of the guilty parties.

Yeah, you should have been on the wall all the fame they should have been.

Yeah, it sounds like the kitchen sinking man versus ice cream.

Yeah and every topic.

Thanks, thanks, well done.

Have a great day. We're good.

Well, here's ice cream us funds.

Good.

Hello.

Our winner is Craig and Singleton, who reminded us to get off our phones in restaurants.

Wise advice to too many people on the phone.

It's just really sad to watch on the phone not making.

A call, namelessly scrolling through the scroll.

At least when you see that, you think these people hate each other, like they're just not communicating at all.

Yeah.

Then I saw it recently when I was on holiday and these two guys I noticed them at breakfast the first morning on the phone like that. And apparently it was one of their birthday because the staff board out of birth little birthdays all right, So they're on the phone.

I saw them later at the pool on the phone, and then I saw them.

They had a prime room upstairs overlooking the ocean.

Okay, I looked out there they were on their phones.

They're taking photos live in the moment. Good good advice, Craig, Thank you mate. Door are not coming, not just coming out of a bye week, but also the boys are pretty happy because it's a month at home with a whole lot of home games in a row.

Hayden Young very good? How are you very good?

Indeed, you're rested. You've had it well.

I mean you've been resting anyway after your surgery. But everyone's rested, had.

A bit of a break.

Everyone is very arrested, a reset.

I think everyone enjoyed a weekend off and spending some time with family and friends and just resetting to go again for a second half of the year.

So it made a bit different for you in rehab. You've probably got to keep working now. But to the boys, how many days do they get where they don't have to do much or anything.

Yeah, they've got four days off, So a few people went homes or family. We played in Gold Coast, so a few stayed over on the East Coast and enjoyed some warm weather. And then yeah, we were back at training on Thursday, and then we had a solid session on that day and then this week's just preparation as per usual.

You did do a few things during that time.

We saw you visited a school clinic during the break, and we know Pat Voss is a competitive beast.

Oh my good.

Field, but there is a video that would suggest he doesn't hold back with the kids either.

Oh he's so funny. I don't know how he has so much energy. He had more energy than the kids around playing what do they call it, King of the Pack and.

Oh yeah he didn't let him win.

He just was locking everything played scrabble with him, wasn't he Ah, he was just Yeah.

The kids absolutely loved it. Yeah, everyone had a smile on their face. And that's why we love him because he brings so much energy to work every day. Like he'll be in at the club at six point thirty in the morning yelling and screaming and yeah yeah, getting everyone up and about. And I'm sure everyone sees that. On game day the energy brings, which is great.

With a chest like that, he's killing on the peck deck probably hours before anyone.

Oh yeah, one hundred percent.

Yeah, unreally.

And the opening of the Coburn Line, we've been talking about the thorn Leake Coburn a lone.

You guys were involved.

As well, Yeah, we got down. It's actually called the Purple LINEE purple Lineh's a coincidence. So yeah, it's going to be great. It's go straight up the stadium to our fans and come along, which would be extra important this weekend because it's obviously North Melbourne's home game, so we want our fans to make an effort to pack out the stadium and get as much purple as we can down there. And now they can get there easily with the new Thornley Comburn line, so we're very excited about that. But yeah, hopefully we can get as many people as we can there this weekend.

All right, we'll bounced down for that is five point thirty on Saturday evening. It is one of those games the Rous sold to the AFL, so it's actually their home game. But you know, I mean that's just pretty much just a technicality, isn't it. I Mean the whole point is you get to stay home, you don't travel, and you're playing, you know, in front of lots of fans of yours.

Yeah, no, it's a great benefit I suppose that we get. We got four weeks at home and yeah, no, it's good. We travel a lot of the team and sometimes that can be pretty tiring and as year wears on it can be tough. And yes, particularly in the middle of the year, it's great to spend four weeks at home, and yeah, spend some time with family and friends and then reseat and yeah, it's going to be good to play it up to so though it was not our home but hopefully we can get as many fans there as we can.

But the reward for the most recent wins and all of that hard work that's gone and has been just sitting just inside the eight right now and it's a good chance at a good spot to be spring loading and loading and getting ready for the rest of the year.

One hundred percent.

We were a little bit disappointed, I suppose with the start of our year in terms of our consistency, but I feel like we've found that and it's coming a good time and we've certainly got ourselves back in the season. But there's still a lot of football to play, and yeah, we're pretty focused on this weekend and taking it one week at a time, and we're really excited by the opportunity we've got to play North at home and yes, hopefully you get another win.

Premattal's wearing their popular stealth jumpers this weekend, which is basically all black with a little bit of purpose my wardrobe.

Actually, it's a very cool jumper it's a very cool jumper.

Do you feel, you know, like, when you put on a different jumper, does it have any bearing on how you feel going out there?

A little bit. Yeah, it's always nice to wear something different. We obviously were a home and away a lot. I find whearing the Indigenous Jumper is always really cool because I've just got a cool design and there's a different feeling going to that game. And then the Stealth just yeah, it's a different feeling as well. You I don't know, you feel like, I know, stealthier.

Stealthy, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Yeah, And it's a nice it's a nice vibe, and it's always good to play a night game in the Stealth Jumper too. Just embrace that darkness. So no, I'm I'm flat that I won't be running out in it, but I'm pretty came to see the boys get out there in the Stealth and put it on a good.

Performance, stealthier and healthier. How's your injury going, mate, you'd be running five faster than forty.

Performer, Yeah, faster than forty percent. Now now it's coming along really nicely. I'm happy with how it's progressing. As you said, we've had a bit of time off, but I haven't had much time off out of the gym and on the track, so I'm pretty sore and I'm working pretty hard to get back as quick as I can.

But all things are looking really good.

So we did get on good authority this week that you are ahead of schedule.

Yeah, i'd like to think so, but we'll see how we go. But no, I'm moving moving better than I was expecting. So we'll keep keep pushing, keep stacking the sessions and get back as quick as I.

Who's getting very excited, very excited. Calm down on your behalf.

I need to talk about something serious, mate. Cinnamon scrolls? Are you a sucker for cinnamon scrolls?

I love a cinnamon scroll.

You're talking a little loaf South for.

We're a little life south for very good extra glaze on top, thank you. But yeah, it's I usually go day after a game to treat myself. I haven't been able to do that lately. I haven't been playing, so that's what's been motivating the averaging session. I've been thinking about these cinnamon scroll so I can get back out there and enjoy cinnamon scroll on my day off.

Yeah, it's just around the corner from my place and they say the words. So they asked me the question, do you want some extra drizzle.

On torngroll with my drizzle it's a paper cathlict.

Yeah, so tasty.

All right, Well, we hope you're not far away from a cinnamon scroll and that means back on the ground as well. Up the stadium. This Saturday night, Bounced Down is five thirty. We were to get as many people there as possible. The roose cut sell out the stadium, so get onto Ticketmaster tickets are as cheap as thirty five dollars and enjoy the game.

I shall thank you very much mate, good to see you.

Continuing our Perth pub crawl this morning, it's Tom Jennis from clutch Cargo.

Hello Tom, Good morning guys.

How are we good?

Good?

Clutch Cargo?

Now did the name come from the old animated show Clutch Cargo?

It did? How did you manage to dig that up? No?

I didn't die it up. I remember going to see you. What are you talking about?

Oh right, No, I mean I mean the name because people always ask people would always ask us, where the hell did you get that name from?

Yeah?

Yeah, it was just on a whim, just for something, So that's what we just called it. We ended up doing a radio show up at six n hour. I think it was Yeah Yeah in Badley and Yeah while the band. While the band was going yeah yeah, playing down at the Queens is where we started.

So now, just a fun fact, this is how I knew where the name came from because when you were playing Sunday Sessions at the Queens, I was working behind the bar there.

And I remember I remember your little monkey.

Sorry, do you remember your monkey?

Didn't you have a little little toy monkey? I used to go everywhere with you with your equipment.

Yeah, that was Hugo. He was I don't know what he was. He was a little I think it was a little like a donkey type of thing, and I had just had a hugel stuck to it, and I just used to take it on planes and if there was a stare seat next to me, I put the belts on. It could come fast. Yeah, order drinks for me.

He was traveling the world.

You wherever Hugo and whatever Hugo was right, it was a monkey or a donkey. Hey, Tom, Yeah, apart from the Queens, mate, do you play many other venues? How busy did it get for you guys? Because I remember that name straight away from Good Guys.

Oh, the Boulevard Ale House, which because really just sort of started to do the Queens as something because Red Square had called it up and we were just sitting around and after a few phone calls had just decided that, well we'll just get, you know, for the hell of it, band together because we enjoyed playing together. So that's when the Queens things started. We only wanted to do like one night a week. Yeah, that just sort of flared out. When I think you remember, we end up doing two nights a week. There was like Sunday and a Thursday. Okay, yes, the Sunday Sessions. Sound of the Queens because that was always that was heaving. I believe it still is heaving.

It was totally no particularly when you'd roll out the recorder on wild Thing. That was amazing moment of the night.

The Red Square was a Rolling Stones band, wasn't it.

No? Red Square was was you know our Originals other band you know, through through the eighties when when everyone did have that that opportunity, it was such a good time. There was a bit of money floating around them, as you know, the pub scene was was excellent. Yes, everyone had the opportunity to to work maybe three four nights a week. You could afford a single four way thing like that, and with the money that you that you made, you could go into Planet Studios or something like that record your originals. We ended up doing like sixty forty you know, covers original and things like that, and because we enjoyed doing that, and it just became more rockier and it just sort of wolfed a bit really until we ended up in Japan.

Right, Okay, Well tell us about Japan, mate.

What happened there was the nineteen eighty nine Yamaha World Song Writing Rock Competition can right, So we ended up entering entering that than the Australian thing. We won the won that, we won the semi finals, We went off to the Star Club in Saint Kilda, did the semifinals, won that, went back again, won that and they had you know, judges like John Farnam and Red Simon's and everyone there. Was absolutely fantastic. But then we won and then our ballot was put in for the Australasian which we didn't actually play for, but then we won that, so then we were we were off to Japan to play it the at the border car for the World Final.

You're kidding, that's really one experience for you.

That was fantastic. We managed to get a coffee of us playing and of course we did the song Catalina that we used at the time and played that on a Saturday.

All right, okay, Because did you feel the pressure to have to leave Perth and go east during this time?

Yeah?

Yes, that was that was that was that was always there. Unfortunately, when when we got back from Japan, the guy that took it it was actually in charge of Yamaha Australia and he was like our Brian. He looked at us and he thought, well, if you guys got more material. I love it, I love it, I love it. Sand it over. We did that and all that sort of thing, and then the next thing we found out he just disappeared. Whether he was fired or or or something, but.

Money away.

Yeah, we don't know, but unfortunately it just it just didn't carry on from from that point. But that was that was an experience.

All right, you've been you've been non stop since.

Tell us about Major Tom, Australia's longest running David Bowie tribute show.

Well, that's we we couple that up with our Queen's show with our organization called All Star Showstoppers. We do that. We do that as well as as Blues Brothers Stones. At the moment we've been using we're doing the cruise liners. We've been doing cruising for about ten years.

It's become a real thing.

Yeah yeah, Well it's so much more accessible now because there's that many, that many ships out there. But we've been fortunate enough and now we're about in our in our tenth year. We've only just got off the last one. We've done seventeen ships this season alone, so now we've just finished that and then we go we do a few you know, Turk Gigs will be doing the regal Bed pretty soon with a show called The Show Must Go On and the Beatles Show, and of course the Bowie thing is fantastic.

I love doing that, but I can't believe you've got to go on had Saturday do Catalina and not get gone by red signs well done?

No, no, it was very good and we nearly didn't get started because the girl forgot to name there was she had this trouble with a black plastic bag and we were running over time and they're looking at us, going or we go come on?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, get us on because.

We're all I mean, we were mining at anyway. Imagine you could imagine you're just sweating in your socks.

Almost all of us were watching.

We all not almost all of us were. Yeah, well it.

Was it was an institute shi. We would go to someone's place watching Saturday and then go out.

And go out getting ready show.

Yeah, because countdown the film The Sunday Night unreal.

Yeah, right toom has been lovely to reminisce about the Perth pub crawl pub scene this morning.
