You too plays a show in a Ukraine bomb shelter.
YouTube's Bono and the Edge have performed a surprise show, a little mini concert in Kiev in a bomb shelter, after a personal invitation from President Zelenki a Zelenski sorry. The boys have tweeted images of their performance in one of the Ukrainian capital's bomb shelters. They did Sunday Bloody, Sunday Desire and With or Without You.
The footage looks so eerie.
This is a shelter, there's a there's sort of a purple glow across everything. But it sounded like this that echo would have been pretty spectacular, really. They The Boys were later pictured visiting the towns of Urban and Booker. The pair were shown greeting locals amongst the ruins of buildings and outside the church where a mass grave was found in April the surprise appearance by Bono, a longtime humanitarian, of course, who frequently lends his voice to a variety of causes. Came as air raid sirens echoed in the Ukrainian capital and fighting raged in the country's east.
Surreal, wouldn't it very much? So bizarre?
The sure report on ninety six A fair.
Sad news has come through overnight. TV actor Dennis water has died at the age of seventy four. Waterman was one of the most popular television actors of the seventies and eighties.
He starred as bodyguard Terry.
McCanny Minder after first finding famous tough nut cop George Carter in The Sweeney. In more recent years, he starts Jerry Standing in the BBC's New Tricks. In a statement, his family said he died in Spain with his wife Pam at his side. That was such a huge song, I could be so good for you, the Minder song. The folks at Neighbors have revealed the full list of returning cast members for the show's final episode. It's not just Kylie and Jason, although that is a huge guest.
What Harold Bishop will be making appearance?
How many times did he die.
I don't know. I thought he drowned, but now he moved to Brisbane.
Peter O'Brien, who played Shane Ramsey, Mark Little who was Joe Mangle, and Paul Keane who played Dance Clark, Daphney's husband, will all be in it as well. There's other names you might recognize, Benjamin McNair who was Malkin, Melissa Bell who was Lucy Robinson, and Natalie Bassingthwaite who played Izzy. The show which began in nineteen eighty five. We'll see its final episode go to air on the first of August. Wow, and I will for the first time since nineteen eighty seven watch an episode of Neighbors.

There's a couple in northern California who got quite a shock while they were out in about during a dog walk in their Gold Country estate. They stumbled onto a rusted canister nestled under a tree, and they assumed they had happened upon some kind of antique metal item, but they were in for an even bigger surprise. After further examination, they took it home and were thrilled to discover a huge dash of gold coins. They were twenty dollar gold coins, all perfectly preserved with liberty head designs engraved on the front. Turns out long story short million dollars in gold coins.
That is mind blowing. You are speechless, absolutely speechless. I can't believe that the bard.
Of gold dated back to nearly two hundred years ago, eighteen forty seven, ten million dollars worth of gold coins.
Quite a booty, isn't it?
More or less found in their backyard?
Yeah? And that's that rule, isn't it. Maybe obviously did the honest thing. We're talking about it now? They handed it in? Do they get a share? They get a cut? That's the thing, isn't it. View I think authority.
No one's going to claim that.
Yeah, funny, that isn't it. Well it's been very long time.
It's going to go somewhere, but no one's going to claim it as their own.
Yeah, probably, Yeah. Sometimes you can find things in your yard. I found a one night that was a loud bang in my street. And when I was living in Baladura, and I looked at in my front yard there was a very fast running what looked like a blonde teenager. Right, And found out later when the police arrived, And then soon after the police arrived, the fibergate arrived. He'd set a light a car up, he'd put a little cloth into someone's petrol tank car alight, and my neighbor two houses up the garage and cup was just going going in flames. Things you find in the yard.
That's a bit different.
Yeah, garden.
It wasn't quite in your yard, was he though?
Was running through my front yard to escape through your front yard with the law in tow.
What have you found in your garden?
How you going? What was it there?
Some friends of ours lived near Hay Park in Bumbery and they one day their dogs started going off and they went out there and there's a model spit file like a huge remote control plane dropped in their backyard. They never could find out who it was either. Oh dear m m there's only one thing. The only thing wrong with it was that snapped the muffler off, the engines, that landed upside down. But it was perfect, perfect condition, still a big, huge one.
Wow. So just kept it poor.
Around. Yeah the shops. Then obviously you didn't know fo spoking that no one ever comes.
So we're going to be a few people ending up with drones in the backyard these days. You hear buzzing around.
Yeah, get you with my sling if you come near me.
Game, Yeah, sling my ging.
That's right, you knocking down.
I don't come over my backyard.
Especially when you're on your on your lawn out the path. You want to relax.
Yes, we're asking what have you found in your garden? Tonka and Carla? What did you find?
Oh?
Good morning, here you going.
You're good?
Good, thank you good.
When I was living in Mandra probably maybe ten years ago, I found a baby in our front guard baby.
Oh dear, yes, yes, I.
Was obviously I was in with my family and my family home and my house. Sorry, my room was out the front of the house, and it's probably like five six o'clock in the morning, and I heard some crying and some screaming, and I was like, oh, what's going on? And then I quickly got my mum and we went out the front and there was this little baby, maybe.
Two or three year old, just sort of walking around in our garden. Yeah, so we sort of did like, we got a blanket around her. We gave us some hot drink, hot milks and stuff and we sort of did door knocking, and yeah, it turns out she was down the end of the street there was. It was her grandma's house, and she was looking after her and she must.
Have gotten out. I think the dog led her out.
Yeah, yeah, so was she even aware at this stage that.
She was so like fast asleep, didn't even realize.
Yeah, we woke her up when we knocked on her door.
Yeah, I know, can stick up through pet doors too, so tiny.
Yeah, yeah, thank you, thank you.
Absolute shocked to see.
Grandma's lucky day was wrong.
He just you know, could have had a heart attack when she woke up and saw that the baby wasn't there.
I'm surprised anyone else in the family found out about that story.
Maybe they haven't.
I wouldn't be.
Maybe they're just finding out now. Michelle and ellenbrook color.
Michelle, how are you good?
What did you find?
A motifike?
A motorbike? It was still running, okay, still running motorbike.
Yes, it was lying on that side, and I was thinking, oh, where did that come from? And I'm thinking that somebody, you know, maybe dumped it and done a runner and okay, so I went out from yeah, okay, looking around and find anybody, and they're like this up the street and four coming around the corner, and it came down another another four houses and landed itself in my drap.
Taking someone out or a yeah, oh no, is he badly hurt?
You broke your foot, but yeah, people will helped him, help.
Me pick the bike up, and you know fuel obviously, and yeah that up when we lifted in my yard. Well, his wife came and picked him up and.
She came back.
It's amazing.
Yeah, you could have excited in the day as long as he was. All right, Michelle, it's.
It's a motorbike and not a four wheel drive.
Yeah, yeah, we'll look it.
Stopped at the driver and didn't.
Keep calling you.
Yeah that's right. Yeah, yeah, even more of a show gainst.
Michelle, thank you.
Motorbikes still running.
Yeah, well we're getting on the top that one. And we're getting enough cars in people's front yard and they end up just going slightly into a bedroom or someone's loud room, just slightly.
We're talking about things you found in your garden.
Andrew and Camillo, Hello there, good morning goes here you are good, well mate, what did you find in your garden?
Well, dealing on the family farm, which was centuries old. Dead and I were doing some clearing of ground around a swamp area which had a big hill on it, and we found a skill with at a bullet hole on it.
Okay.
The hill was known as to be a lockout area because it had a dugout in it with a knob on top for them to hide behind.
Yeah, so we.
Well, it was known if you prepared of that sort of stuff you'd lose your land because it would come under sacred ground.
Okay, so what did you do?
So we hit it.
Buried.
Yeah, we reburied.
It's amazing. Yeah, and it remains buried in a hidden well.
Yeah, we've actually sold the farm. Now it's all un underneath the heap of trees and like that.
We sold the farm.
Andrew, that's quite a story.
So it's possible that the authorities never found out about said Skelt.
Wow, well, no doubt. It would have been probably one of the early days Mary warriors probably got.
Wow.
I'm proud that come out into New Zealand.
Wow, what a tale.
Thank you, thanks Andrew. Wow, that's really yeah, that's an incredible story and a secret between Andrew and Dad that he's just revealed.
I know.
This is our last call for things that you have found in your garden. Chris and Marmion, What did you find up there in Marmion?
Hey, here you go and you yea Chris, what do you got?
Chris?
Yeah? We a seven years of age, that's going back forty seven years ago and two mates digging in our front yard down to Miami and we had sandy areas, making the underground caves made to steal, steal across the top and put the sand bag and we scamper around these little holes and we found an unexploded shell.
Oh my god.
Yes, and between me and me two mates, we were using it to pull the sand away and didn't really care too much about it.
It wasn't Yeah, it wasn't.
Until the old man come down and got us in the afternoon that we realized that we told you look what we.
Found that yeah, oh my god.
Yeah.
The old man freaked over that one grounded for a week again.
So I would imagine you saw his grumpy Facebook. What did he do with? What said?
She ended up?
He ran the army, and the army came out, the police came out, and there they took it away. I don't know what happened that they never got back to us.
It needs to be blown up.
Well yeah I did say so. Yeah, yeah it was.
It was unexploded shell.
Was all still together, asking as anything.
Yeah, we were.
We were using it basically as a spade the seventies.
Yeah, the boys in standby matell What a story for your mates at school.
It's great.
No one believed, but we believe you.
Chris.
Thank you, Chris.
Thanks for calling an unexploded shell.
And you just imagined Dad's face. You'd go off like a show.
Well he would.
I mean, Chris wasn't really to.
Know, of course not. It was a handy tool.
Yeah, absolutely, thanks More more Lisa, More podcasts soon ninety six.
Ryan Daniels, Good morning mate, How are you welcome back? Thank you? Good to see your mates.
Yeah, it's great to be here.
I'll tell you what.
I don't have COVID, although I thought I would get it in Sydney because it's you know, it's very busy. There's a lot of people got around. I don't care about COVID anymore. Over there, it's it's gone to the district.
I didn't have it.
I haven't. I haven't, Ada, I'm still waiting. You tested myself a thousand times over the weekend, waiting for it to drop a kid before Christmas. But then I realized I wasn't feeling off. I was just traveling with two small children on the plane. Hunt over. You feel like you had COVID all the Timebie, I don't have it yet. Fortune All right, Well.
What's going on?
Oh my god, oh my god.
Yeah.
Yeah, So I did manage to watch this. We'll call it a game, but it was barely a game. I did feel sorry for them during the week and they were dropping like flies, players coming out left, right and center. Adam Simpson couldn't even coach. He was in ISO as well. They pulled up a guy from the Waffle, Jake Florenka, who by the way, was one of their better players. He did himself no harm.
Got the ball a lot, Yeah he did.
He got the ballot that he was the second highest contested possesion winner on the ground. So well done to Jake, and I reckon there might be more chances for him in the future, not just COVID related, just in general. So that was the positive I suppose you could take Herne McGovern. They held up pretty well. The rest was pretty bad. I thought it was okay, It was okay, worked funnily enough. That was seventy nine point seventy. It actually didn't feel like as bad as that because I think everyone looked at it when I think it was by one hundred and fifty, the only two hundred points. They were okay, like they held up their end. But it's just this is just, you know, another step in a very long and painful season for the West Coast Eagles, and it doesn't get any easier. They've got Melbourne this Sunday.
At the top of the ladder, aren't they.
And you might remember the last time Melbourne played here they won a Grand final.
This is now their home turf, you know, so undefeated.
It rounds in well, if this were prison, they would have walked up to the biggest guy in there and knocked him out. That's winning the Grand Final here. This is now their turf that the Eagles don't even have that, So it.
Does feel like they can't take a trick.
It does feel like that Eagle boys, they need chips this weekend, take a shiver out.
I would take the ships. It might not be enough.
Still stop Melbourne.
Things haven't gone their way least, but there are ways to make it as bad, aren't there? There are things to avoid.
Yeah, I felt really sorry for them till I saw them living it up at the hippie club and I thought, way to not read the room. I mean, really, you're full of COVID at the club and here you are at a nightclub. You you were specifically asked by the coach not to go to a nightclub for all the obvious reasons, like being bottom of the ladder, by like being full of COVID.
There you've gone, And how dumb are you that you think that's not going to get out?
And look, firstly, let's just say all of us in Western Australia at some point have made the mistake of ending up at hippie class. I know it's so much to cat, there is so much to catch. COVID is the least of your concerns. We've all been there at two am and thought what am I doing?
I'm still missing a shoe that's stuck in the car.
The sticky flour and the fluorescent life hasn't changed since I'm guessing the eighties. I mean it's just we love the hippie club.
It's part of w as we go to talk about our luck, of course, but.
You're not just questioning your night choice. Yeah, at the end of the night thinking is this where I'm at? Is this really where I'm at?
I know people, I've seen a lot of people saying, oh, come on, you should be allowed to go and have a drink at the end of your work day.
But to be fair, their work year is not the same as the rest of us.
They have agreed to a different system they have for the months well, and it's meant to not involve.
That's correct going out, and that's hard for young guys. I get it right, they're in that age where they want to go out, they want to socialize. They let's maybe something perthday. They are comminated well, and it's hard. But I always think back to a league of their own and there's this great where Geena Davis said it just got too hard, which is trying to leave the team, and then Tom Hanks says it has.
To be hard.
If it wasn't hard, everybody would be doing it.
And that's true.
That's why it's hard to be on an AFL list. It's hard to play footy because everybody wants to do that. You look out of the crowd, there's fifty thousand people. They all wish they could play footage start. They all kind of did at some point, you know, and they don't get to do it. So guys like Jackson Nelson, Josh Rotha and Jake Wardham and these guys there's now seven of them, just.
You know, it's being called the Hippie Clubs the Hippie Club.
Obviously didn't remember any mcdonna lines from that movie, by the way, but yeah, it's I'll watch it later. I remember the last time I was at the Hippie Club was our late friend Chris main Wearing's birthday.
Oh wow.
So maybe they think there's some kind of Eagles history.
It maybe, I mean, that's yeah, they can try running that excuse, but I don't think where Adam Simpson, as you saw Furious Trevin is but the same like, this is not going to go well. And for some of those guys, and I want to bully them or be too specific, but some of them are hanging by a thread on that list, and some of them are out of contract at the end of the year. These are not smart decisions, you know, they're not, so pull it in a little bit.
Should have want to mask too.
I know, it's really dumb. It's just dumb, you know. The hippie just always rethink always you're walking down Oxford Street telling my kids that in fifteen years when they're out and lead of all, just he will still be there. It'll still be there and it won't have changed.
Man.
So not even COVID can stop Freo.
No nothing, nothing hand stopped them. It's official. So like they had sort of sidestepped all the COVID stuff for a while out of case you are there, you know a little bit and stuff. But last week was like wang, they got hit. I think it was what seven all up six or seven all up at the n and they were looking at North Melbourne. So you go, well, they could probably still beat North, but he still had to beat the team that's on the park and it's in the AFL. Anything can happen, teams can upset it at all times, so they had to still bring it. They did, They brought it and they were very dominant again. So I'm just can't be more impressed with the wave. Fra Male at playing and we were just talking about it offair. A lot of the previous Dockers teams, even when they were good, unless you're a freo die hard, you're kind of they were either hard to watch because they didn't score a lot and they were slug slow and sluggish, or they were you know, the car Brothers, and it was like if you didn't love them, you hated well balance like so that. But now this version of Freemantle, even to the non Fremantle fan, it's really enjoyable to watch. They're likable players. There's not one player on that team that you go, I hate that guy.
I see the love for each other too.
Cohesive it is.
It's really cohesive. They seem to enjoy playing with each other.
And I could see, you know, like when you watched free it was like these do these guys like each other?
There's like little clicks.
It was like being in high school.
It's very high school and a lot of footy clubs are like the good ones, though aren't like that the good ones. Everybody gets among. Everybody's enjoying each Other's got that. Yeah, it's really great and they've got a couple of interesting weeks coming up. They go the Gold Coast, which is great that they played the DS in a couple of weeks. That's just shaping up as arguably the game of the season so far. So still a little while away, but let's hope both there. I think that's over there, which is even better because you know it's it's yeah, it was like it's a long and winning there to Melbourne.
He beat Melbourne in Melbourne, Melbourne and Brisbane and Melbourne Brisbane vehicle.
So you go over there and you get that done, that becomes you know, it's we already think they're real. We know they're real, but that just that's that is it.
It's a real takedown.
We talked about going into the prison yard and knocking out the big kid in Yeah, you're right, that is that. He is the biggest guy in the biggest.
The Melbourne bubble will burst eventually eight straight.
So that's right. Someone's got to get him. Someone's got to get him as well.
Be free. There's Lucky Shultz made of? Is the bulletproof or something? To get the gold Post On the weekend, I thought he's going to break his neck. He's got a little grays there. I'd still be on the floor.
I'd be off the stadium now, that'd be the whole ride shaped hole on the floor.
He's solid, he's stocky, but that would bloody he was and he hit COVID. Taken to the hospital in recovery like that.
That was good. The only lucky who hasn't left for you, that's.
Right, still got a lucky And he was best on ground two weeks ago after and I think it was Carlton and he had COVID like five days earlier. He might actually be not human.
So who's back for the Gold Coast game?
Or they should get most of those COVID guys back, which is is a good deal. But a lot of the clubs here have been realizing that COVID is kind of a two week thing. Some people are different, some can come straight back, but I know West Coast are basically staying sick after all. That's right, and you can't They send a treadmill around to your house or a bike or something, but you can't keep up. You can't hit the targets you need to hit, and it's dangerous to send you out there. So we saw Heath Chapman and Hayden Young. They had an extra week off, So it wouldn't surprise me if some of these guys had another week, particularly while they're going so well. There's no need to rush anybody and play them under dress. So it might be this week, it might be next, but all the way they're gone beautifully.
And sweep Kowski will he'll miss this week over.
Yeah he was a bone play. Yeah, you've got to have the concussion protocols. I think it's twelve days minimum, should be thirty, but it's twelve days at the moment. So he missed. But it doesn't seem to matter with freemail at the moment. Guys come in, guys come out, and they just keep getting the job done, which tells you that the system is working really, really well. And I reckon Andy Brayshaw, I reckon he might be leading the Brownlow Metal. Ye. I mean Paddy Cripson, he'll have been great too, But Andy bray Shaw, he is having some kind of season.
We might be four or five weeks away from a dual Brandlow medalists coming back to so lucky Yeah.
Yeah, sorry, yeah, butluck you might win it this year. Yeah, that's right. Five fee probably mid season Round ten, eleven, twelve. Were looking at that so a pretty good boost, not bad at all.
One more thing, Fever survived ESCA against Collingwood.
Yeah it was I mean it was here and they should have probably won by a little bit more of the fever at Gump beautifully, but sometimes you've got to get reminded that you know you're going to turn it up a little bit. And the last four or five minutes Sarah Glasgow is fantastic. She basically won on the game so well. Under the fever they are rolling. They look like the best team minute they've been here before. But I'd hope they can keep going with it and not have any speed bumps this time.
Absolutely good to see men.
Yeah, I see you on Friday.
Yeah it sounds good.
And if you're not, you know we're we're here yea.
And if anyone out there listening, don't go to the hippie club next weekend.
And if you do, not if you play AFL football anyway, he.
Made that and especially if you just got thumped Joco.
Thanks Ryan, and you're right over.
