After a La Presse exposé on tour guides operating in Montreal without the appropriate permits, the city has announced it will crack down on the practice. Some say without proper qualifications, these non-authorized tour guides can lead to misinformation and answering questions they aren’t qualified to answer. Françoise Bâby is a licensed Montreal tourist guide member with APGT (Montreal Tourist Guide Association) and she explains the issue at hand.
