Bonny Reichert avoided anything and everything to do with the Holocaust for most of her life. Her father Saul lived through the Holocaust in Auschwitz-Birkenau, surviving on potato peels and coffee grounds. It was too difficult to hear about horrors until the journalist found herself typing it into an article she was working on. That marked the beginning of an exploration into her family’s legacy.
