Her father Saul lived through the Holocaust in Auschwitz-Birkenau, surviving on potato peels and coffee grounds. It was too difficult to hear about horrors until the journalist found herself typing it into an article she was working on. That marked the beginning of an exploration into her family’s legacy. Bonny Reichert is the author of How to Share an Egg: A True Story of Hunger, Love and Plenty. She spoke to Andrew Carter.
