Karma Cottman is CEO of Ujima, The National Center on Violence Against Women in
the Black Community, where she leads policy work with legislators and government
agencies on behalf of survivors.

A Washington, D.C. native with over 20 years in the field, she previously served a
decade as Executive Director of the DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence and a
decade at the National Network to End Domestic Violence, directing national policy as
VP of Policy and Emerging Issues.

Today she also sits on the steering committee of the Institute on Domestic Violence in the African Community and the Policy Partnership for Communities of Color.
