The suit further alleges that NYPD and federal law enforcement agencies arrest did Malcolm X's security detail days before the assassination and intentionally removed officers from inside the ballroom where he was killed. Federal agencies also had personnel in the ballroom who failed to protect him. According to the suit, Malcolm X's wife, Betty Shabbaz, the plaintiffs and their entire family suffered have suffered the pain of the unknown for decades. Per the lawsuit, quote, they did not know who murdered Malcolm X, why he was murdered, the level of NYPD, FBI and CIA orchestration, the identity of the governmental agents who conspired to ensure his demise, or who fraudulently covered up their role. The damage caused to the Shabbaz family is unimaginable, immense, and irreparable, the suit states.
