Join Pastor Johnny Teague on your drive home as he dives into one of Houston's most chilling cold cases. Unpacking his newest book, A Real Estate Nightmare: A Hurricane and a Triple Murder, Dr. Teague takes listeners back to August 19, 1983—the day after Hurricane Alicia battered Southeast Texas. While the city was still recovering from massive blackouts and storm damage, three real estate professionals—Elizabeth Shoemate, Joanne Brown, and Frances Ivey—went to work at the Shoemate & Company office on Memorial Drive and never returned home.

In this episode, Dr. Teague recounts the harrowing details of that Friday evening: how a fellow agent unexpectedly discovered the scene, the uncanny silence following the storm, and the shadowy figure spotted inside the office. Reframing these three women not just as victims, but as cherished members of the Houston community, Dr. Teague shares his extensive research and interviews with law enforcement and families in the hope that bringing this 43-year-old mystery back to light will finally lead to justice and closure.
