New CTV Original one-hour special THE TAKE BACK airs tonight (Friday, Nov. 24)at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CTV, ca, and the CTV app.
In THE TAKE BACK, two deserving heroes, who were nominated by their admirers for their remarkable stories of resilience and hope, are given a second chance at their previously cancelled celebrations.
In the inspirational special, a team of experts create a surprise event for two worthy Canadians, giving them an experience that changes their ordinary day into an extraordinary lifetime memory.
Celebrations are everything. But sometimes, life throws a curveball, and those big moments get snatched away either due to illness or the pandemic. That’s where THE TAKE BACK steps in, with surprise twists, jaw-dropping reveals, and celebrity drop-ins that turn letdowns into legendary moments.

THE TAKE BACK first shines a spotlight on 14-year-old Hartley, a dedicated fundraiser and ambassador for SickKids Hospital and budding voice actor (he is the voice of Rex on PAW PATROL)

Wesurprise Hartley with a celebrity-filled Dungeons & Dragons themed birthday bash at Canada’s Wonderland – marking the first time Hartley, who is immunocompromised, and his family enjoy a large social gathering with all of their family and friends.
The surprise celebration at Canada’s Wonderland includes special guest appearances by award-winning actress Maitreyi Ramakrishnan (from NEVER HAVE I EVER), actor Robbie Amell (THE FLASH), and actor/writer Anthony Burch – who is known in the Dungeons and Dragons world.
Then, we put the spotlight on HoopQueens founder Keesa K., who is given a second chance after a pivotal fundraising and launch event was lost due to the pandemic.

Special guests at the fundraising event include supporters and basketball luminaries such as four-time WNBA champion, three-time league MVP, and three-time Olympic gold medallist Sheryl Swoopes, Canadian Women’s National Basketball alum and two-time Olympian Tamara Tatham, Commissioner and CEO of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) Mike Morreale, WNBA All-star Cheyenne Parker, our very own TSN anchor Kayla Grey (THE SHIFT), The Toronto Raptors’ official mascot The Raptor, along with a surprise performance by Juno Award-winning rapper TOBi, and special video messages from professional wrestler and actress Trish Stratus, and former NBA player and coach of the Canadian men’s national basketball team, and Raptors announcer, Leo Rautins.
The fundraising event was filmed at The Bentway in Toronto with the proceeds supporting a scholarship for a rising athlete – which we showcase in the special as well.

THE 119th ORIGINAL SANTA CLAUS PARADE returns to CTV, ca, and the CTV app on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

The parade is North America’s longest running children’s parade and bring viewers closer to the magic of the season.
This year, we get set to welcome more than 25 spectacular floats, including a brand-new creation starring Mrs. Claus leading the North Pole’s command centre, Santa’s newly animated reindeer flying over beautiful rooftops, the debut of an all-new Mother Goose, hundreds of colourful costumed marchers, and the enchanting sounds of more than 10 marching bands. 
The jolly 90-minute special also features a performance by Grammy® award-winning artist Brenda Lee, famously known as “Little Miss Dynamite,” who will delight audiences with a special performance of her beloved holiday classic, Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree as it celebrates its 65th anniversary.
