Richard Chew is joined by Charles Schutt, author of "A True Story of a Catholic Priest: Why I Got In - Why I Got Out - And What I Learned Through It All."
Schutt highlighted the Catholic church's strengths in education, health care, and social services. "Nobody does it better than the Catholic church when it comes to those three, none," he told Chew. "Nobody does it worse than the Catholic church when it comes to interpreting or relying on theology. They are still back at Nicaea. They're back, way back when, in the three hundreds [A.D.]."
Schutt emphasized the importance of living in the present and integrating modern scientific understanding into religious teachings.
His book is available on Amazon and at Unabridged Books (3251 N Broadway in Chicago).
