WCPT 820 Interview: Amy Rasmussen of CAPE

View descriptionShare

Richard Chew is joined by Amy Rasmussen, executive director of Chicago Arts Partnership in Education (CAPE).

She discussed CAPE's school, after-school, summer, and parent arts programs, educational impact, funding needs, and the upcoming ArtJoy 2026 fundraiser, Saturday, September 12.

Program Impact
- CAPE serves about 40 Chicago public schools and suburban schools through in-school, after-school, and summer programs.
- Arts residencies aim to spark curiosity, strengthen engagement, and provide creative outlets rather than train every student to become an artist.
- Research has shown improved test scores among participating students; current tracking also includes attendance, parent feedback, teacher insights, and student stories.
