Richard Chew and guest in-studio guest Karen Byrne are joined by Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, 2027 candidate for re-election.

The interview focused on Johnson’s midterm election takeaways, governing record, and re-election campaign. Here are a few highlights from the conversation:
- Johnson said this week's election results reflected support for expanded democracy, taxing wealthy individuals and corporations, and bold leadership.
- He highlighted younger voters’ engagement and cautioned against Democratic leaders retreating from the election’s message.
- He pointed to investments in housing and homelessness, youth, public schools, mental health care, and underserved neighborhoods, while acknowledging areas still need improvement.
- He emphasized affordability, fiscal stability, and community engagement as priorities in his re-election campaign. He cited Chicago’s support for a millionaire’s tax and urged corporate leaders to back it.
