In Holly Springs, progress is being made towards the development of a 68-acre park in the city. The Holly Springs City Council has unanimously approved an agreement with the Holly Springs Parks and Recreation Authority for a $1.9 million bond dedicated to the new park.

The authority has recently acquired nearly 10 additional acres of land on Stringer Road, expanding the future Timothy B. Downing Park's boundaries to include the intersection of Stringer and Hickory Roads. This purchase, authorized by the authority on February 23, came at a combined cost of $1,867,500, adding to the existing 58-acre land already owned by the authority.

As Holly Springs officials work diligently towards the realization of this project, the city moves closer to providing its residents with a spacious and vibrant park for their enjoyment.
