The jaguarundi may look unusual, but this wild cat is facing a very real conservation problem. Found across much of the Americas, scientists estimate only around 13,000 mature jaguarundis remain in the wild. Now classified as Near Threatened, these mysterious cats face habitat loss, road deaths, disease and conflict with farmers.
