View descriptionShare

There’s a new hospital in South Carolina that is joining the Piedmont Medical Center family. Piedmont Medical – Fort Mill is a 200,000-square-foot facility that is designed to meet the community’s needs at every phase of life. It is part of Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill and has served York, Lancaster, and Chester Counties for the past 30 years. Piedmont Medical has been ranked as a high-performing hospital by U.S. News. And have the doctors and technology to back it.

That's state-of-the-art technology, like the Da Vinci Robotic System. Many gynecologists use the system to extract fibroid tumors that are especially prevalent in African-American women. Hear from OB-GYN Dr. James Hubbard. who has performed more than 500 robotic cases and is the first doctor at Piedmont Medical Center to conduct a robotic surgery. We also talked to his patient, LaVette McClean who initially refused surgery, but eventually underwent the  procedure with the Da Vinci robotic system.
