Let Me Run Program Helps Boys Be Themselves

View descriptionShare

We often talk about girls and the issues they face these days – whether it’s body image, self-esteem, or how they deal with conflict or communicate with others. All seem to be a common thread among them across the board. But, who we don’t often talk about with these same or similar issues  -- is boys.

Yes, our boys have issues, too. Here are a few interesting facts about boys you may not know. Boys today often face problems related to mental health, including depression and anxiety. Toxic masculinity is the pressure to be strong, stoic, and not show emotions, so boys struggle to express their feelings and don’t often seek support, which can then lead to emotional repression. Then there is peer pressure, cyberbullying, academic challenges, and yes, even body image concerns.

Just where do boys go to get help? Let Me Run is a wellness program that allows boys to be themselves.
