Three weeks before the Second World War ended in Europe, HMCS Esquimalt was torpedoed and sunk off Halifax Harbour, becoming the last Canadian warship lost in the conflict. Forty‑four sailors were killed.

Josh & Jade speak with retired Lieutenant‑Commander Gerald Pash of the Naval Association of Canada ahead of a commemoration ceremony in Esquimalt, marking the ship, its crew, and the reminder that the war did not only happen overseas.
