The federal government has announced $500,000 for the Island Corridor Foundation and the Reconciliation Corridor Initiative to support the next phase of feasibility work on potential passenger rail service between Vic West and Langford.

Barb Desjardins, Esquimalt mayor and co-chair of the Island Corridor Foundation, joins Josh & Jade to discuss the funding announcement, why project leaders believe this effort differs from previous rail studies, and why early findings, including preliminary ridership data, are giving them reason for optimism.
