Joining the program this morning  first is Robert Ritter, Director of Impaired Driving and Occupant Protection with NHTSA as he discusses the alarming statistics behind hot car deaths and our children and what we can all be doing (even if we don't have kids of our own) to lower the yearly fatality rate.  Then Shannon Powers, Press Secretary with Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and Tracie Young, Wildlife Rehabilitator and Director of the Raven Ridge Wildlife Center in Washington Boro join the program to address the growing concern with the Spotted Lanternfly and the negative impact the insect has on our area, along with what we should and shouldn't be doing in an attempt to get rid of them.

Then Dr. Lee Ann Savio Beers, Professor of Pediatrics and the Medical Director for Community Health and Advocacy at Children’s National Hospital, and former President of the American Academy of Pediatrics discusses the FDA and CDC's recent approval of the Covid-19 vaccine for kids 6 months - 5 years old. Then Dr. Giridhar Mallya, with the The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and former manager of tobacco control programs at the Philadelphia Department of Public Health is highlighting an upcoming hearing with the FDA on a proposal to permanently end the sale of menthol cigarettes, with public comment being accepted through August 2nd. Finally, Julie Garner, Founder of Project Yellow Light and Noah Brechbill, High School Student and Scholarship winner from Schwenksville, PA join the program to discuss distracted driving, in particular among our youth, and a scholarship program through Project Yellow Light, where teens design ad campaigns aimed at getting their peers to be more aware of the dangers of being distracted behind the wheel.

Adoptions From The Heart is non-profit full services adoption agency which builds families through adoption and was founded by an adoptee who believed in the benefits of open adoption for all members of triad. Then Dr. Theresa Cerulli, Board-certified Psychiatrist and ADHD Specialist joins the program to discuss Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)among adults. ADHD is now recognized as one of the most common psychiatric diagnoses in adults with a prevalence of approximately 5% in the U.S.; that’s about 10 million diagnosed adults. Still, it's reported up to 75% of adults who have ADHD don’t even know they have it.
