World-famous comedian Jim Jeffries joined CBR Wrapped ahead of his upcoming national tour and addressed the fresh controversy surrounding Marty Sheargold’s angry on-air claims this morning.
Things got so heated that his publicist attempted to cut the interview midway through.
Your podcast.
Camera wraps Rod and Gabby with you for the run home. Our next guest has sold out arena's worldwide, including iconic venues such as Madison Square Garden, London's o to Arena Camera's Llewellen Hall. It's a big spot. Can I tell you? It's the first place that I willingly went into a large gathering of humans after COVID. It was twenty twenty two and he was up there, maskless, entertaining us and making us all laugh on one another, The great Jim Jeffries, how are you mate?
I'm good, thank you. I was marthless because on stage I wouldn't want to be sitting with all you people getting CAVID. I was in the safest spot in the room.
Doesn't matter if it's a COVID super spread or event onstage. Yeah, well it's the day. We'd all had the JAB by then, so we're safe as houses. Anyone who hasn't had the good fortune of seeing you live. Here's an example.
My mother in law's there and she holds the baby up next to my head and she goes, oh my god, he looks exactly the same as Jim. And my wife said, so you don't think you'll be good looking.
Gabby, you have a six year old? Is this a real life?
Sorry?
Six months? So you're right, you skipped to forward a little bit six months old. But Jim, what is with babies always looking like their dad's the first one? It's always the case?
Well, I reckon it's a biological Darwin thing. So that we don't reject the baby and throw it away, so that we actually take care of it for a bit.
That's very narcissistic, Like.
The baby look like me and he was constantly crying, so we act like his mother.
You can say that what she's not here, Well, that's right, who knows she's in an issue?
That's a joke that I wouldn't be bold enough the same my life.
Okay, we'll easume she's out of the country right now. Hey, by the way, congratulations on this Channel seven show. We don't play all the questions. We just go to the last one to see if we are as smart as the one percent. I just wonder how tough it is compared to a stand up performance, because you're having to interact with a lot of people. Is it like a full set with NonStop hecklers?
What it is It's just like doing crowd work, but different from stand up comedy in the sense that I can't tell you to f off at any day. They're still contested, so I have to be friendly to him the whole time. When people are in stand up audience is that they want to be roasted, but I only want to be raised on the one percent.
Speaking of telling people to f off, which are not allowed to do on the show this morning, you kind of did that to Marty shar Goal right, He's come out to say you never showed up for his interview on Triple M. Have you have you heard what he said?
Well, I've only just been told about this a few seconds before I came on here, which I had just thrown in from America the night before, and I said, I can't get up because I'm too jet lagged or whatever, but I will do phoners, and so I will ring into the radio station. We did that, and for whatever reason, for whatever reason, that information wasn't passed on to Marty, and so Marty got upset. And look, look all the other radio stations knew what happened. If I knew who Marty Sheargirl was, I'd be really upset by this whole incident.
It's obviously as while we were wanting to talk to you, so it's broken at the same time. You and we have learned of it at the same time. But it always reads worse. We've just been given the audio. Do you want to hear it? I don't think it sounds like he's that upset for.
Real, all right, I don't hear it.
All right, let's just take a listen to it here. This is this morning in Melbourne on Triple And with Marty sheargun canbra boy done good?
Like Jim Jeffries who's just decided he's going to stay in bed. I supposed to do a pre recorded interview with him to help him sell tickets. By dude, it's not doing me any favors.
Its aute.
It sounds like a very slow news day.
Now.
I feel mean saying I don't know who Mardy here gold is. I've got no problem with that. I feel like that's the appropriate response for me not showing up. I've just been sold by my manager. He's slightly meaner after that clip.
Well, okay, there's a little bit more here, the last bit. Let's ever listen to it. This is the first time we're hearing it too.
And he just won't get out of bed. Jim's made his decision. We're going to pull his tickets out of three Way, We'll find another prize and Jim doesn't get mentioned again because you know what you You can't bother to get out of bed, pull your finger out of your ass and do your job. That's what you're here for. Sell tickets to your own show, not my responsibility to sell tickets for you.
Your mates with Shiggsy, aren't you.
I'm being very honest with you. I've never met him, nor do I know what he looks like, but it seems that he's very upset with me, so he obviously knows me. That must be his job. As he so puts it, you're very oh good man.
I don't think he's even that mad. If he was mad, he wouldn't have.
Mentioned you at all. Look, look, look, look, I'll be the first to put my hands up and say that. The night before, I said I'm too jet lagged. I've just got in here. I performed two shows that night, and I said I can't get up till morning radio because I've got to do two shows the next day, I said I'll do phone as if that's possible. People said, yeah, that's fine, and then all this is blown up. Look have I been on his show before. I've never been on his show before, So me and Marty don't have her relationship in any way. They're talking about me like someone who's known me for years.
That's why I assumed you were maze all right, Jill Jeffries comedy megastar, give them what they want to or at Heading to Camera Friday, August sixteenth.
