Scott Lien joins host Ron Aaron and co-host Carol Zernial to talk about how technology designed for seniors can enhance the bond between caregivers and seniors on this edition of Caregiver SOS.
About Scott
Scott Lien is GrandPad's Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, leading the company as it builds an accessible platform that empowers seniors to connect with family, friends, and caregivers. He brings a wealth of experience to the team, having led Intuit's mobile technology innovation group and developing user-friendly software for Target, Best Buy, and Bank of America. Scott is also a practitioner of the LEAN Startup Method, which emphasizes putting users first and designing specifically to their needs.
Scott loves working with Super Seniors (those over the age of 75) as he believes they have many life lessons and wisdom that we can all learn from. The average age of the GrandPad tablet user is 85 years young and our most famous GrandPad user so far was Hester Ford of Charlotte,
NC, who had 116 years of wisdom! With GrandPad, Scott strives to create a world where no seniors are lonely or isolated.
Since last being on the show in March 202 Grandpad has introduced:
· Multi-player Game Capabilities: You can play Checkers, Chess and Yahtzy over a video call. See here for more details. · Grandie Chat: You can learn more about it here and here.
· Grandie Games: With the popularity of games on our platform, we launched Grandie Games to open up inter-generational game-play to more people. It is a mobile app available for download on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. You don't need the GrandPad to play. But of course you can play with GrandPad users in your network. We currently offer Checkers, Chess, Slots, Solitaire and Yahtzy with more to come. It is free to play and there are no intrusive or predatory ads for a safe gaming experience.
Hosts Ron Aaron and Carol Zernial, and their guests talk about Caregiving and how to best cope with the stresses associated with it. Learn about "Caregiver SOS" and the "Teleconnection Hotline" programs.
