佛罗伦斯路（Florence Road）是以杨佛罗伦斯（Florence Yeo，1887－1962）命名的。她是有“米粉大王”之称的富商林亚炳（Lim Ah Pin，1890－1943）的妻子。今天位于实龙岗上段一带的林亚炳路（Lim Ah Pin Road）和佛罗伦斯路（Florence Road），便是以这对夫妇命名。相信当年他们在这一带兴建住宅、开辟道路，因此留下了这两个路名。

杨佛罗伦斯自幼是孤儿，由天主教修道院收养。她没有中文名字，只有一个教名“Florence”，姓杨。林亚炳则出生于福建，小时候由母亲带来新加坡，与早年南来谋生的父亲团聚。两人很年轻就结婚，当时佛罗伦斯20岁，林亚炳只有17岁。婚后育有五子五女。
